چکیده
Anastomosing haemangioma (AH) is a rare, benign variant of capillary usually occurring in the genitourinary system.1 AH easily confused with low-grade angiosarcoma2 due to its rarity, morphology, and identical radiological appearance. We present an unusual case incidentally found colon 55-year-old male. The patient underwent colonoscopy exclude microscopic colitis, 3 mm sessile rectal polyp was excised. contained circumscribed but unencapsulated submucosal lesion resembling splenic parenchyma, formed by multiple anastomosing sinusoidal sized spaces lined hyperchromatic endothelial cells frequent hobnail morphology. Unlike angiosarcoma, lacked significant atypia, spindling, multilayering, papillary tufting, mitotic activity necrosis. There were also thin intervening bands mildly cellular fibrous stroma, occasional fragmented erythrocytes, hyaline globules within macrophages. Immunohistochemical staining positive for marker CD24 negative D2-40, GLUT-1, CD8, HHV8. Molecular genetics confirmed guanine nucleotide-binding protein G(q) subunit alpha (GNAQ) mutation characteristic AH3. This demonstrates how immunohistochemistry, molecular can help distinguish from malignant differentials. By reporting this case, we aim increase awareness features facilitate accurate diagnosis prevent unnecessarily aggressive treatment. References 1. Anastomosing Haemangioma of the Kidney Involving a Segmental Branch of the Renal Vein
Anastomosing variant of capillary haemangioma is a rare and recently described vascular tumour with a proclivity for the genitourinary tract. Here we present the case of a 64-year-old man with incidental finding of 3.4 cm renal mass on CT who had laparoscopic nephrectomy with a good postoperative recovery. Histopathological diagnosis of anastomosing haemangioma of the kidney was made and the pa...
متن کاملHaemangioma of the mediastinum.
Mediastinal masses not infrequently present themselves as problems for diagnosis. Benign vascular tumours of the mediastinum are rare. Adams and Bloch (1944) reported a case in which the tumour was incompletely removed at operation. The patient was alive and well four years later. The subject was reviewed by Seybold, McDonald, Clagett, and Harrington (1949), who collected 14 cases from the lite...
متن کاملRare cavernous haemangioma of the oral cavity with numerous phleboliths
Hemangiomas are tumors of blood vessels identified by rapid endothelial cell proliferation in early infancy followed by involution over time. All other abnormalities are malformations resulting from anomalous development of vascular plexuses. This lesion in the oral cavity is not common. Despite its benign origin and behaviour, it is always of clinical importance to the dental profession and re...
متن کاملPedunculated haemangioma of the palate.
Haemangiomas are the most common tumours of vascular origin of the head and neck region and can appear anywhere in the oral cavity. They are benign, appear in early childhood and usually involute as the child grows older. The dental surgeon should manage them appropriately if they are symptomatic. This report presents a rare case of a pedunculated haemangioma in a 4-year-old child.
متن کاملCavernous haemangioma of the lung.
Leeds Cavernous haemangiomata of the lung are rare, and a survey of the French, American, and English literature on the subject has revealed only five cases. In 1936 Bowers reported the case of a baby boy who, two days after birth, became extremely dyspnoeic and died within a few minutes. At autopsy there were many branching raised areas on the surface of both lungs. These were filled with bloo...
